How does Spinal Decompression therapy differ from ordinary traction?
Ordinary Traction is helpful but it cannot address the cause of the problem. Spinal Decompression creates a negative pressure or vacuum inside the disc. This effect causes the disc to pull in the bulging and /or herniation while increasing the flow of blood and nutrients back into the disc allowing the body’s natural response to heal the injury and re-hydrate the disc. It is like pumping up a flat tire. Traction and inversion tables (+90 to a +30 mmHg pressure) cannot lower the intradiscal pressure as effectively as Spinal Decompression Therapy (-150 to -200 mmHg pressure). Spinal Decompression is more effective is relieving pain while addressing the cause of the pain faster, gentler with fewer side effects.
